Diving NSW was honoured to be part of the celebration as Melissa Wu was officially inducted into the NSW Commonwealth Games Hall of Fame.

Recognised as Australia’s greatest-ever female diver, Melissa’s extraordinary career has inspired generations. Representing Australia at five Commonwealth Games and five Olympic Games, Melissa’s achievements include Olympic silver and bronze medals, along with an incredible five Commonwealth Games medals — including three gold.

Her Commonwealth Games journey includes three memorable synchronised 10m platform medals, partnering with Alexandra Croak in 2006 and 2010, and Charli Petrov in 2022 and an individual gold in the 10m platform at the Gold Coast Games in 2018. Melissa’s contribution to Australian sport was further recognised when she was given the incredible honour of carrying the Australian flag at the Closing Ceremony of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Beyond her remarkable achievements as an athlete, Melissa continues to give back to the sport she loves as a coach, volunteer and valued member of the Diving NSW Board. Her commitment to the future of sport also extends internationally through her role as a World Aquatics Athletes Committee member, where she continues to advocate for and support athletes on the world stage.

Melissa’s passion, leadership and dedication continue to inspire the next generation of divers and leave a legacy within our diving community and beyond.

A huge congratulations Melissa — a truly deserving recipient of this prestigious recognition.
